Glossary term: 折射式望远镜

Description: 折射式望远镜是一种使用透镜作为主要集光元件的望远镜。折射式望远镜与反射式望远镜不同,后者使用反射镜作为主要集光元件。折射式望远镜仍然是业余爱好者常用的望远镜,通过特殊的镜片组合(“消色差望远镜”)来校正不良的色彩效应,可以为目视观测和天体摄影提供出色的图像质量。在专业天文学领域,从20世纪初开始,折射式望远镜在很大程度上被反射式望远镜所取代。天文学家希望获得更大的孔径(透镜或反射镜直径),但折射式望远镜的镜片尺寸很难超过一米。这是因为透镜仅允许在边缘处有支撑,导致沉重的透镜中心在重力作用下下垂,使透镜的形状和光学特性发生扭曲。
