Glossary term: 金牛T星
Description: 金牛T星是一类低质量的年轻变星，以金牛座的恒星形成区中的原型变星T-Tauri命名。它们的 "表面 "温度（有效温度）与相同质量的 F、G、K 和 M 光谱型主序星相似，但由于直径较大，它们的亮度要高得多。这些正在收缩的年轻恒星尚未开始进行氢核聚变，其能量来源于引力收缩释放的重力势能。金牛T星可通过不规则的光学亮度变化和光谱来识别。它们会发出强烈且多变的X射线和射电波。亮度的变化部分是由于围绕金牛T星的盘状星周物质中的团状结构引起的。
