Description: 紅矮星是小而低質量的恆星，其有效溫度低於3900開爾文（K）（約3600攝氏度（°C））。相較於黃色的類太陽恆星，它們在人眼中看來會顯得更紅，但沒有紅矮星可以被肉眼直接看到。質量在太陽質量8%到50%之間的恆星，大部分時間都處於紅矮星階段。這些恆星的氫核聚變速度遠低於太陽等恆星，因此亮度較低，但能夠維持氫聚變更長的時間。許多紅矮星具有非常強的磁場，因此會比類太陽恆星有更多的磁暴和恆星黑子。銀河系中的大多數恆星都是紅矮星，距離太陽10秒差距以內的恆星也多為紅矮星。
