First place in the 2022 IAU OAE Astrophotography Contest, category Time lapses of celestial patterns.
This video is a compilation of several recordings taken on various occasions in June 2019, both on Easter Island and in the Atacama Desert in Chile. It starts with an impressive opening of clouds seeming to emerge behind the famous statues on Easter Island and moving directly forwards towards the observer. It evokes the impression of the mighty deities sending clouds to cover the night sky.
In the next couple of scenes, we see landscapes with an impressive Milky Way turning overhead, but this quiet scene is continuously interrupted by hasty satellites or — in one of the scenes — even by car lights on the ground. It illustrates both the majesty of the sky and the disturbance of nature by human influence.
Then there is another scene of clouds passing by, but now from left to right. The terrestrial clouds pass below the clouds of stars that form the Milky Way. The last scene shows an undisturbed still pattern of stars that looks like a flight over a zoomed-in photograph, and shows how we are not used to experiencing nature’s stillness and silence.

Dieses Zeitraffervideo ist eine Zusammenstellung mehrerer Sequenzen, die bei verschiedenen Gelegenheiten im Juni 2019 sowohl auf der Osterinsel als auch in der Atacama-Wüste in Chile aufgenommen wurden. Es beginnt auf eindrucksvolle Weise mit Wolken, die hinter den berühmten Statuen auf der Osterinsel aufzutauchen scheinen und sich direkt auf den Betrachter zu bewegen. Man bekommt den Eindruck, als würden die mächtigen Gottheiten Wolken schicken, um den Nachthimmel zu verdecken.
In den nächsten Szenen sehen wir Landschaften mit einer beeindruckenden Milchstraße, die sich über uns dreht, aber dieser beruhigende Anblick wird immer wieder durch eilige Satelliten oder - in einer der Szenen - sogar durch Autolichter am Boden unterbrochen. Das veranschaulicht sowohl die Pracht des Himmels als auch die Störung der Natur durch den Einfluss des Menschen.
Es folgt eine weitere Szene mit vorbeiziehenden Wolken, jetzt aber von links nach rechts. Die irdischen Wolken ziehen unter den Sternwolken der Milchstraße vorbei. Die letzte Szene zeigt eine Milchstraßenansicht, die wie ein herangezoomter Schwenk über ein Einzelbild aussieht. Dies zeigt einmal mehr, wie ungewohnt es für uns ist, die Stille und Ruhe der Natur zu erleben.

Cette vidéo est une compilation de plusieurs enregistrements pris à diverses occasions en juin 2019, à la fois sur l'île de Pâques et dans le désert d'Atacama au Chili. Elle commence par une ouverture impressionnante composée de nuages semblant émerger derrière les célèbres statues de l'Île de Pâques et se déplaçant directement vers l'avant en direction de l'observateur. Cette ouverture crée l'impression que les divinités puissantes envoient des nuages pour couvrir le ciel nocturne.
Dans les deux scènes suivantes, nous voyons des paysages terrestres avec une magnifique Voie lactée tournant au-dessus de nos têtes, mais cette scène tranquille est continuellement interrompue par des satellites en chute ou - dans l'une des scènes - par les lumières des voitures au sol. Ce film illustre à la fois la majesté du ciel et la perturbation de la nature par l'influence humaine.
Puis il y a une autre scène de nuages qui passent, mais maintenant de gauche à droite. Les nuages terrestres passent sous les nuages d'étoiles qui forment la Voie lactée. La dernière scène montre un motif immobile d'étoiles qui ressemble à un vol au-dessus d'une photographie agrandie, et montre que nous ne sommes pas habitués à faire l'expérience du calme et du silence de la nature.

Evoca l'impressione che le potenti divinità mandino le nuvole a coprire il cielo notturno.
Nelle due scene successive, vediamo paesaggi con una suggestiva Via Lattea che gira sopra le nostre teste, ma questa scena tranquilla è continuamente interrotta da satelliti frettolosi o - in una delle scene - persino dalle luci delle auto a terra. Poi c'è un'altra scena con un passaggio di nuvole da sinistra a destra. Le nuvole terrestri passano sotto le nuvole di stelle che formano la Via Lattea. L'ultima scena mostra un disegno di stelle immobili e indisturbate che sembra un volo su una fotografia ingrandita e mostra come non siamo abituati a sperimentare la quiete e il silenzio della natura.
