Glossary term: Sagittaire
Description: Le Sagittaire est l'une des constellations du Zodiaque, c'est-à-dire que les étoiles qui composent cette constellation se trouvent dans la partie du ciel qui coupe l'écliptique (le plan défini par les orbites des planètes du système solaire). Ainsi, depuis la Terre, on trouve régulièrement les planètes, mais aussi le Soleil, dans la constellation du Sagittaire. Dans le cas du Soleil, cela se produit de fin décembre à début janvier (à ce moment-là, bien sûr, nous ne pouvons pas voir les étoiles de la constellation). Le Sagittaire est l'une des 88 constellations modernes définies par l'Union Astronomique Internationale, mais son origine est bien plus ancienne : elle faisait déjà partie des 48 constellations nommées par l'astronome Claudius Ptolemy au IIe siècle. Le Sagittaire est connu pour être l'emplacement du centre de la Voie lactée et du trou noir supermassif Sagittarius A*.
