मकर तारामण्डल (सामान्यतया मकर राशि), यसका चम्किला ताराहरू र वरपरका तारामण्डलहरू सहित। मकर तारामण्डल वरिपरि (माथिबाट घडीको दिशामा) कुम्भ राशि , गरुड, धनु राशि , माइक्रोस्कोपियम तारामण्डल (सूक्ष्मदर्शी) र पिसिस अस्ट्रिनस (दक्षिणी मत्स्य) तारामण्डलहरू छन्। मकर क्रान्तिवृत्तमा अवस्थित छ (यहाँ नीलो रेखाको रूपमा देखाइएको छ)। क्रान्तिवृत्त भनेको सूर्यले वर्षभरिमा आकाशमा पार गरेको देखिने मार्ग हो। सूर्य जनवरीको मध्यदेखि फेब्रुअरीको मध्यसम्म मकरमा रहन्छ। सौर्यमण्डलका अन्य ग्रहहरू पनि प्रायः मकरमा भेट्टाउन सकिन्छ। मकर आकाशीय भूमध्य रेखाको ठीक दक्षिणमा अवस्थित छ र आर्कटिक सर्कलको दक्षिणका सबै पर्यवेक्षकहरूले देख्न सकिन्छ। मकर उत्तरी गोलार्धको शरद ऋतु र दक्षिणी गोलार्धको वसन्त ऋतुमा साँझमा सबैभन्दा स्पष्ट देखिन्छ। तारामण्डलको दक्षिण पूर्वमा (यो रेखाचित्रमा तल्लो बायाँमा) गोलाकार तारा समूह एम३० (यहाँ पहेँलो वृत्तमा प्लस चिन्ह राखेर देखाइएको छ) भेट्टाउन सकिन्छ।
