Description: النواة النجمية هي المنطقة المركزية للنجم. وتكون نجوم التتابع الرئيسي (مثل الشمس) هي المنطقة التي يحدث بها الاندماج النووي ، مصدر الطاقة للنجم.
في قلب نجم التتابع الرئيسي ، تلتحم ذرات الهيدروجين مكونة الهيليوم. في النجوم المتطورة ( الاكبر عمرا ) مثل النجوم العمالقة ، قد لا يكون هناك اندماج نووي في اللب ، أو عناصر أخرى مثل الهيليوم يمكن أن توفر الوقود لهذا الاندماج النووي. في هذه النجوم المتطورة ، يمكن أن يحدث اندماج الهيدروجين (وعمليات الاندماج النووي الأخرى) في طبقات اخرى حول اللب.
