Description: La fascia degli asteroidi si trova in una regione compresa tra i pianeti Marte e Giove; in questa regione orbitano il pianeta nano Cerere e un numero enorme di asteroidi, per lo più di piccole dimensioni, composti principalmente da rocce e alcuni minerali. La fascia degli asteroidi è stata definita fascia principale degli asteroidi per distinguerla dagli altri piccoli corpi che si trovano nel Sistema solare, ossia gli oggetti vicini alla Terra e il gruppo Troiano.
