Glossary term: Disco

Description: Un disco è un sistema appiattito di materia in moto circolare complanare attorno ad un centro comune. Il materiale di un disco può essere costituito da molti elementi diversi, come gas, polvere o persino stelle. Ne sono un esempio i dischi di accrescimento attorno alle protostelle, i dischi protoplanetari intorno a giovani oggetti stellari, i dischi di accrescimento attorno ai nuclei galattici attivi, e i dischi galattici.
