Glossary term: 우주날씨
Description: 우주 날씨는 지구 근처의 우주 공간에서 일어나는 변화를 설명하는 말로, 하전 입자(전하를 띤 입자)의 움직임과 지구 자기장의 상태와 관련이 있습니다. 우주 공간에서 하전 입자가 많이 발생하면 마치 악천후처럼 통신에 문제가 생길 수 있습니다. 특히 태양에서 일어나는 강한 폭풍, 즉 태양 폭풍은 우주선이나 지상의 전자 기기에 손상을 입힐 수 있습니다. 하지만 이런 현상은 동시에 아름다운 자연 현상인 오로라와도 관련이 있습니다. 우주 날씨에 영향을 주는 요인으로는 우주선(cosmic ray), 지구 자기장 안에 갇힌 하전 입자들로 이루어진 반앨런대, 태양에서 날아오는 하전 입자의 흐름인 태양풍, 그리고 플레어나 코로나질량 방출처럼 지구를 향해 하전 입자를 방출하는 태양 현상들이 있습니다.
