Description: ‘일주’는 말 그대로 하루(하늘의 한 바퀴)를 뜻합니다. 지구에서는 지구의 자전으로 인해 하늘의 천체들이 움직이는 현상을 일주라고 합니다. 이 때문에 별과 다른 천체들이 동쪽에서 떠서 서쪽으로 지는 것처럼 보입니다. 이러한 겉보기 운동의 축은 지구의 자전축과 일치합니다. 일주권은 별이 하늘을 가로질러 이동할 때 그리는 경로입니다. 밤하늘을 장노출로 촬영한 사진에서는 별들이 북극성이나 남극점을 중심으로 둥근 원호 혹은 원의 일부 모양으로 흔적을 남기는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 지구가 아닌 다른 행성에서 본다면, 그 행성의 자전축의 기울기나 자전 주기가 다르기 때문에 별과 천체들이 하늘에서 다른 경로로 움직이는 것처럼 보이게 됩니다.
