Frances McCarthy is the Head of Education and Outreach at Blackrock Castle Observatory. The BCO opened in 2007 and presently houses a robotic observatory alongside an interactive science centre.

Sophie is a Research Fellow in the area of space weather forecasting. She is involved with science outreach at DIAS Dunsink Observatory and leads the Astronomical Midlands project to engage rural communities in the Irish midlands with astronomy

I'm an Astronomer working for Space Exploration Ltd in Ireland. We have a suite of powerful robotic research grade telescopes in a UNESCO Starlight Reserve area in southern Spain, in order to provide superb resources for teachers, students and researchers. My participation (including published papers) in Astronomy Education includes carrying out an astronomy pilot programmes on robotic telescopes for schools for the Department of Education.

Oisin Creaner

Dr. Oisin Creaner is a computational astrophysicist who has worked as a lecturer and researcher at several institutions around the globe, including Berkeley Lab in the USA. He is an enthusiastic outreach speaker and advocate for early career researchers. His current research at Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies is to streamline the use of a new kind of camera called an "MKID."

Sarzi Marc
Dr Sarzi Marc

Armagh Observatory & Planetarium


French-Italian astronomer, who graduated and obtained his PhD at Padua University and who after holding several position and fellowships at the MPIA in Heidelberg, Durham, Oxford & Hertfordshire, is now Head of Research at the Armagh Observatory & Planetarium.
