As part of the RADIIO project supported by the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development, we explore how astronomy can foster inclusive participation across educational, geographic, and social boundaries. Through an urban–rural co-learning model, students engage in shared astronomy activities and exchange learning experiences. We also contribute radio astronomy training and resources to the Shanghai Astronomy Museum Rural Teacher Support Program. Beyond schools, we support disability-inclusive communities through accessible astronomy activities and explore citizen science, multi-sensory outreach, and astronomy theatre. This presentation shares lessons learned in building inclusive pathways to astronomy participation in local contexts.
Biography:
Yuan Sui is a mathematics and physics teacher and astronomy club advisor at North America International School in Shanghai, China, and a member of the RADIIO project supported by the IAU Office of Astronomy for Development (OAD).
