Talk - Hunting For Fast Radio Burst. An Interactive Activity To Simulate Astrophysics Research
“Hunting for FRBs” is an educational activity designed to simulate the core processes of scientific research. Participants are provided with a radio astronomy dataset and tasked with searching for a short-duration radio signal - a Fast Radio Burst (FRB) - after filtering out radio frequency interference. The activity is available for free on EduINAF and has recently been transformed into an interactive exhibit for a visitor center. In this talk, I will present the educational value of this activity: how it conveys the authentical nature of scientific inquiry, the challenges and choices behind its adaptation into a physical exhibit, and future developments.
