Glossary term: Solar Mass

Description: A solar mass is a unit of mass equal to the mass of the Sun: about 1.989 x 1030 kilograms or 333,000 times the mass of Earth. Solar mass is commonly used to measure and compare brown dwarfs, stars, clusters, and galaxies.
