Glossary term: Ciclo Solar

Description: O ciclo solar é o ciclo de aproximadamente 11 anos no número de manchas solares, erupções solares e outras formas de atividade no Sol. Essa atividade é gerada pelo campo magnético geral do Sol. Como esse campo magnético alterna entre as polaridades norte e sul a cada onze anos, é necessário um período completo de 22 anos para que os pólos magnéticos do Sol retornem à sua configuração original.
