Glossary term: Ciclo solar
Description: El ciclo solar es el ciclo de aproximadamente 11 años que se observa en el número de manchas solares, erupciones solares y otras formas de actividad en el Sol. Esta actividad es generada por el campo magnético general del Sol. Dado que ese campo magnético cambia de polaridad entre el norte y el sur cada 11 años, se necesita un período completo de 22 años para que los polos magnéticos del Sol vuelvan a su configuración original.
