Glossary term: Ondas de rádio
Description: As ondas de rádio são a parte do espectro eletromagnético com maior comprimento de onda, menor frequência e menor energia. Elas variam de um comprimento de onda mínimo de cerca de 1 milímetro e frequência de 300 giga-hertz até comprimentos de onda de vários quilômetros e frequências na faixa de mega-hertz. Nossa atmosfera é transparente para a maior parte dessa faixa de ondas, permitindo que os radiotelescópios sejam instalados no solo.
