التقطت المركبة الفضائية نيو هورايزونز التابعة لوكالة ناسا هذه الصورة الملونة ذات الدقة العالية للكوكب القزم بلوتو في شهر تموز 2015. تجمع الصورة بين الصور الزرقاء والحمراء والأشعة تحت الحمراء التي التقطتها الكاميرا التي تعرف بأسم رالف للتصوير المرئي متعدد الأطياف. يبدو سطح بلوتو محسنا في هذه الصورة من خلال التعديل اللوني للأزرق الباهت والأصفر والبرتقالي والأحمر الغامق. تُبين الصورة التفاصيل والألوان بمقاييس صغيرة تصل إلى 1.3 كيلومتر.
