Description: As estrelas T-Tauri são uma classe de estrelas variáveis jovens de baixa massa. Seu nome vem de, T-Tauri, uma estrela variável na região de formação estelar na constelação de Touro. As variáveis T-Tauri são encontradas em grupos de estrelas jovens. Suas temperaturas "superficiais" (temperaturas efetivas) são semelhantes às das estrelas de sequência principal do tipo espectral F, G, K e M com a mesma massa, mas são significativamente mais luminosas porque seu diâmetro é maior. Essas estrelas jovens em contração ainda não começaram a fundir hidrogênio e são alimentadas pela liberação de energia gravitacional durante sua contração. As estrelas T-Tauri podem ser identificadas por sua variabilidade óptica e espectro irregulares. Elas emitem ondas de rádio e raios X intensas e variáveis. A variabilidade do brilho também é causada por glóbulos no disco circunstelar que circunda as estrelas T-Tauri.
